A state-of-the-art community centre officially opened on Wednesday, 26 June 2024 in Werribee with recreational and kindergarten spaces catering for families in Melbourne’s growing west.
The new community centre features kindergarten rooms, multipurpose community and meeting rooms, maternal and child health consulting suites, a community kitchen, staff offices, accessible amenities and outdoor spaces.
It was designed to respond to the needs of the growing local community by providing an integrated family centre adjacent to open spaces and a retail precinct.
The $10.5 million project was jointly funded by the Victorian Government, Wyndham City Council, and developers, with $3.8 million coming from the Growing Suburbs Fund and the Building Blocks Infrastructure Program.
