Chirnside Park residents will be able to build stronger community connections thanks to the official opening of the Chirnside Urban Park on Thursday, 17 July 2024.

The project has delivered an all-abilities playground, community recreation and social spaces, urban forest and an event space, providing a safe and inclusive reserve that meets the diverse needs of the local and broader community.

Other works include upgrades to the existing wetlands and installation of picnic shelters and barbeque, seating, toilet facilities and additional car parking.

The project will improve the social, health and wellbeing needs of the area and provide a hub where the community can gather and host a range of diverse recreation activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

The $4.5 million project was jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Yarra Ranges Council, with $2.25 million coming from the Growing Suburbs Fund.
