The second stage of the Ryans Creek Reserve activation project in Kilmore has been completed, delivering a range of new community facilities that enhance accessibility, connectivity, and active recreation in one of the town’s key public spaces. The opening was celebrated with members of the community on Thursday, 8 May 2025.

The $1.1 million upgrade - supported by a $900,000 investment from the Victorian State Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund and $200,000 from Mitchell Shire Council - marks the latest milestone in the transformation of Ryans Creek Reserve.

Stage two builds on the success of the initial upgrade in 2020, which saw the installation of a large play space, solar lighting and pathways. The latest works have focused on the northern section of the reserve and include:

  • Car parking at Pauline Way and Parkview Drive
  • New pedestrian bridge and crossings
  • Linking pathways
  • An outdoor fitness station and kickabout area with soccer goals
  • Seating, landscaping and native plantings
  • A new pump track for bikes and scooters
  • A new accessible unisex toilet block (opening mid-June)

Some additional works will be completed by 30 June including solar light installation along the pathways, a bin at the pump track and tree planting around the pump track and outdoor fitness equipment.
