Children and families in the fast-growing areas of Fraser Rise and Plumpton now have access to vital local services with the completion of the $17 million Plumpton Community Centre. The community centre was officially opened on Thursday, 12 May 2025. The Plumpton Community Centre is a purpose-built, integrated facility, supporting the needs of children, families and the wider community within the fast-growing City of Melton.
It was jointly funded by Melton City Council and the Victorian Government, with a $1.5 million contribution from the Growing Suburbs Fund and $9,442,885 from the Building Blocks Fund, totalling $10.9 million. The centre includes kindergarten, Maternal and Child Health services, and a community space for programs and services to cater for community need. The kindergarten program commenced at the centre in 2025, providing much needed places for 3 and 4-year-old funded kindergarten in the local area.
