Melton South residents can enjoy more opportunities for play, sport and socialising following the completion of recent upgrades to Blackwood Drive Recreation Reserve.
The revitalised park was officially opened on Friday, 22 August 2025.
Improvements include upgraded play equipment catering to a wide range of ages and abilities, improved kick-about areas, new and upgraded footpaths, picnic and barbecue facilities and new natural canopy cover to provide more shade.
Outdoor exercise equipment pods have been introduced to help support healthy, active lifestyles, and new half courts are already proving to be a big hit with bigger kids. A rock-climbing unit has also been installed to help the local Scout’s obtain their relevant badge without travelling too far.
Melton City Council contributed $500,000 towards the project, with the Victorian Government also contributing $500,000 through its Growing Suburbs Fund.
