The communities of Maddingley, Bacchus Marsh and Darley can now enjoy three activity nodes along the Aqualink Linear Park, thanks to the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund. The project’s official opening took place on Saturday, 28 June 2025.

This project, which promotes health and well-being through increased opportunities for passive and active recreation, received $671,000 from the Growing Suburbs Fund and co-funding of $100,000 from Moorabool Shire Council.

The Aqualink Activity Nodes project provides three activity nodes along the Aqualink Linear Park, which has been created by repurposing an unused water channel into a 4.5km track, spanning the suburbs of Maddingley, Bacchus Marsh and Darley.

With more families moving into the area, the completion of this project will provide more local recreation facilities across the shire for older children, teens and adults, including outdoor fitness equipment and passive recreation spaces.
