The Victorian Government’s Living Libraries Infrastructure Program has funded upgrades at the Doncaster Library which will provide visitors with a more welcoming and user-friendly space when they arrive.
The reopening of the library, which took place on Monday, 9 September 2024 showcased:
- A new customer service desk
- New carpeting and acoustics
- The addition of dedicated work and study booths
Doncaster Library has been supported by $118,500 from the Victorian Government’s 2023-24 Living Libraries Infrastructure Program. The project has been delivered by Manningham City Council, that also invested $118,500 into the redevelopment.
The upgrade to the Doncaster Library has provided a more welcoming space and improved customer interaction areas.
The Living Libraries Infrastructure Program supports local councils to continue to provide high-quality library infrastructure that meets their communities’ changing needs.
Through the program, the Victorian Government has invested over $49.3 million over the last nine years into 139 library infrastructure projects with a total project cost of $348.8 million.
