The Victorian Government is delivering the facilities needed for lifelong learning, with the opening of the redeveloped Rosanna Library on Friday, 13 February 2026.
At 1600 square metres, the new library is double the size of the previous library, ensuring it can service future community needs and cater for population growth in the area.
The library includes a range of new facilities, including an expanded children's area, a youth gaming area, study lounge spaces, community meeting rooms, co-working spaces, indoor reading areas, an outdoor reading terrace, a podcast studio and a music recording studio.
Both the indoor and outdoor spaces have been designed to provide a contemporary, progressive and innovative library service in the heart of the local community.
Banyule City Council’s Child and Maternal Health Service and the very popular Banyule Toy Library will also be housed in the new library.
The Victoria Government invested $1.5 million towards the redevelopment through the 2021-22 Living Libraries Infrastructure Program, while Banyule City contributed a significant $15 million.
