The Koo Wee Rup Bowling and Community Hub was officially opened on Thursday, 13 March 2025.
The redeveloped pavilion has been designed using a modern modular build to better support its various users. The pavilion is used regularly by Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club and Southwest Gippsland Midweek Bowls Group. It is also used on occasion by Koo Wee Rup Lions Club and other community and private groups.
The pavilion includes a community room, named after the late Ray Brown, a former Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club President and Cardinia Shire Council Westernport Ward Councillor, and Cardinia Shire Citizen of the Year.
The new Koo Wee Rup Bowling and Community Hub features a social room, lounge and community rooms, kitchen, office, storeroom, first aid room, changeroom and toilet amenities, large decked area and spectator seating, all constructed using a modern modular build methodology.
Construction of a new car park and access paths were also included in the upgrade. The new facility replaces the existing pavilion located at the south end of the reserve, which was built in the late 1960s.
The $5.4 million pavilion redevelopment was jointly funded by the Cardinia Shire Council, the Victorian State Government and Commonwealth Government, with $1,647,863 million coming from the Growing Suburbs Fund.
