More than 1500 residents gathered on Saturday 6 September to celebrate the official opening of the new Keysborough Community Hub, marking a significant milestone for one of Greater Dandenong’s fastest-growing communities.

Families, neighbours and community groups explored the new facilities and enjoyed a day of live entertainment, children’s activities and food from local providers.

Designed to bring people together, the Keysborough Community Hub offers a wide range of services and programs, including a library, maternal and child health early years education and welcoming community spaces. With landscaped outdoor play areas and flexible rooms for gatherings, the Hub is quickly becoming a vibrant focal point for the Keysborough community.

The hub began opening in July with the launch of the community lounge and playground. Maternal and child health services commenced in August, with childcare to follow in the coming months and kindergarten services commencing in 2026.

The hub’s design draws inspiration from Keysborough’s natural environment, celebrating the magnificent river redgums that were already here and with colour choices that echo the surrounding landscape.

Sustainability has been central to the project, with environmentally responsible materials and energy-efficient systems incorporated to support a 5-Star Green Star rating.

The project was supported by a $4 million contribution from the Victorian Government, including $3 million through the Building Blocks Grant and $1 million via the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.
