The Victorian Government has contributed a total of $3 million through the Growing Suburbs Fund to support Yarra Ranges Shire Council in the delivery of Climate Resilient Building projects across eight sites in the region:
- Coldstream Community Centre
- Monbulk Community Link
- Healesville Memorial Hall
- Powelltown Reserve Pavilion
- Warburton Millgrove Sporting Complex
- Yarra Centre Pool and Stadium
- Yarra Glen Memorial Hall and RSL
The Climate Resilient Buildings for our Community project has improved Council’s capacity to respond to changing community needs and demands by providing energy resilient upgrades that will support stronger, more resilient, and liveable communities.
The completion of energy resilient upgrades at the Coldstream Community Centre enables the facility to be used to support the community to withstand, respond, and recover from natural disasters and other extreme events such as heatwaves, fire, flood, and wind events.
The community celebrated the official opening at two sites: the Coldstream Community Centre on Friday, 13 June 2025, and the Monbulk Community Link on Sunday, 15 June 2025.
