As part of the Councils and Emergencies project, on 10 January 2017 LGV released a directions paper. The directions paper describes councils' current emergency management responsibilities and actions, based on their legislative requirements. It reflects extensive consultation with council officers, emergency management agencies and emergency management experts.
How to make a submission
Submissions to the Councils and Emergencies Directions Paper closed on 8 May 2017. Thank you to all the councils and agencies who contributed to this important consultation process.
The Local Government Victoria (LGV) project team is now reviewing submissions to inform the development of a position paper and a consultation report which will summarise the feedback received and address the key themes received during the consultation period.
