LGV helps to build councils’ emergency management capability and capacity.
- Leading a three-phase Councils and Emergencies project. This project will clarify councils’ emergency management responsibilities and develop strategies to ensure councils have the skills and expertise to meet their emergency management obligations.
- Coordinating the Municipal Emergency Resourcing Program which builds emergency management capacity in rural, regional and peri-urban councils.
- Providing support to emergency management collaborations and partnerships which bring councils together to collectively strengthen their capability and capacity.
- Reporting on collaborative emergency management, looking at the benefits and costs of collaborative approaches to emergency management.
