National Competition Policy Compliance 2008-09

Councils are required to report on compliance with National Competition Policy requirements by completing a template and including it in their Annual Reports, certifying their compliance with NCP principles.

National Competition Policy and Local Government (December 2008)

The 2008 National Competition Policy and Local Government: A Revised Statement of Victorian Government Policy (the 2008 Statement) is now available for the information of councils and other stakeholders.

Previously issued in 1996 and 2002, the 2008 Statement confirms Victorian local governments' continued obligation to comply with National Competition Policy (NCP) principles. The 2008 Statement is the product of a collaborative effort between the Department of Treasury and Finance and Local Government Victoria.
